Dress For Cold Weather Motorcycle Riding

!±8± Dress For Cold Weather Motorcycle Riding

Riding your motorcycle during cold wet weather requires planning, foresight and the right gear. Clothing that seems fine when you are driving your car or walking down the street in the rain probably wont cut it at 70 miles an hour on your motorcycle. It takes the right gear to keep you warm under these extreme conditions. Buy gear designed for motorcycling. There is a difference. Women riders have had a tough time finding gear made for them at an affordable price until fairly recently. Happily myself and other vendors are offering affordable quality gear tailored for women.

DRESS IN LAYERS
COVER ALL SKIN
BLOCK THE WIND
STAY DRY
KEEP YOUR HEAD WARM
THE LAYERS

Insulating Layer: The insulating layer creates dead air space between the layers of clothing, trapping warm body air and keeping it around the body. Look for outerwear that is warm, water-resistant and well insulated with a synthetic fiber such as Thinsulate Insulation.

Outer Shell: This layer protects against wind and rain. This is probably the most important layer.

Outerwear Machine-washable jackets retain their waterproofing better than those that require dry-cleaning. Jackets with sealed seams also prevent water from getting in. If you wear a non-leather jacket get one designed for motorcycling. That stylish 0 jacket you bought at the department store probably won't work as well as a 0 jacket you buy from me because it's not designed for motorcycling. Leather is a great wind stopper. A well made leather jacket designed for motorcycling will last for years, keep you comfortable and protect you in a skid.

Look for outerwear containing Thinsulate and similar Insulation, it provides about 1 ½ times the warmth of down and nearly twice the warmth of other high-loft insulators when equal thicknesses are compared. Look for features such as cuffs that close tightly to keep out cold air and snow, zippers with large nylon teeth, and storm flaps over the zippers and double breasted chest openings to block wind and water. Cuffs, pockets and chest closures with multiple closure systems such as zippers and snaps or zippers ,velcro and snaps tend to stop more wind.

Zip out liners are very handy. You can remove your liner when it is warm in the afternoon, store it in your saddlebag and put it back in when the temperature dips.

Add leather or string ties to zippers etc so you can open and close them with your gloves on.

Your neck Nehru or Euro style collars on jackets tend to cover the neck better. A turtle neck sweater will help some. In really cold weather a balaclava or a leather riding mask will make a big difference. Remember to cover your neck! By the time you have traveled a half a mile in cold weather you will know if you forgot to cover that adam's apple!

Legs Protect your legs from the wind. There are a variety of choices for protecting your legs. Chaps, Leather pants and Textile pants. I sell a variety of these items in various price ranges. All of my items are designed for motorcycling. Once again wear layers; thermal underwear and lined pants or chaps to block the wind. When it gets cold a pair of Levis and long johns won't do it!

Footwear Wet feet become cold and numb quickly, keep your feet dry by wearing appropriate boots. When your feet become wet (through sweating or immersion) you need to put on dry, fresh socks. Insulated boots help. Wear socks made of synthetic fibers like polyester and polypropylene. Make sure your boots are loose enough to comfortably wear thick socks. Avoid steel toe boots. A pair of cold feet will ruin an otherwise great ride!

Headgear You loose most of your heat through your head and neck! Wear a full face helmet with face shield for optimum comfort. Leather masks cover the neck and lower face. Balaclavas cover the neck, face and insulate your head.

Gloves Waterproof gloves lined with synthetic insulation such as Thinsulate insulation are effective insulators, keep your hands covered at all times. The savvy rider has several pairs of gloves designed for various riding conditions: Fingerless gloves for warm summer riding. This cuts down on vibration, reduces calluses and offers some protection in a skid. Zip Cuff Gauntlet gloves The next choice is usually flexible gloves with thin lining that offer wind protection and a gauntlet cuff to keep wind from blowing up the jacket sleeves. I carry a pair all the time in my saddlebag along with a pair of cotton liners to add when it gets cold. They are handy even on cool summer nights. For really cold weather I wear a pair of thick gauntlet motorcycling / ski gloves with thick insulate lining. Gauntlet cuff gloves are very important. They fit over the jacket sleeve and keep ice cold air from blowing up to your arm pits at 70 miles an hour!

Mittens keep hands warmer than gloves but offer less dexterity. They are a definite no-no for riders or passengers. You can't feel the controls and the passenger can't hold on!

Rain Gear

Keep a set of nylon rain gear in your saddlebag for each person on the bike. They don't weigh much but they are a real life saver when the rain or sleet starts coming down.

Just my opinion on heated clothes. They work great when they work! I used to wear a heated vest and heated socks. I stayed warm and toasty even in really cold weather. One day in January one of my heated socks quit working, I didn't realize it. I froze a couple of toes and darn near lost them. That was enough for me!

A few general observations:

Avoid real tight clothing. You loose that insulating warm air layer when you wear a jacket, pants or boots that are too tight.

Dress for comfort and protection. Wearing your beany and a denim jacket when the chill factor dips below 30 only impresses dummies. Surprisingly this occurs at about 45 degrees F at 70 mph!

Bring gear for the worst weather you may run into. You probably will. Those nice 70 degree October days sometimes turn into a rainy 35 degree ride home.

WIND CHILL

The cooling effect of wind at 70 mph is astounding. Plan carefully before you leave. At about 10 degrees fahrenheit you are entering very dangerous territory. Wind chill is not something to fool with:

WIND CHILL @ 70 MPH

DEGREES F-> 50 40 30 20 10 0 -10

WIND CHILL 38 24 9 -6 -20 -35 -49

HYPOTHERMIA

1. Hypothermia is a decrease in the core body temperature to a level at which normal muscular and cerebral functions are impaired." Hypothermia can creep up on you and seriously reduce your thinking abilities and
coordination.

2. Conditions Leading to Hypothermia

Cold temperatures Improper clothing and equipment, Wetness, Fatigue, exhaustion, Dehydration, Poor food intake, Alcohol intake - causes vasodilation leading to increased heat loss

3. Temperature ranges at which hypothermia can occur on your motorcycle:

32 DEGREES Below freezing ALWAYS DANGEROUS WITHOUT PROPER GEAR

40 degrees - ENTERING DANGER ZONE: PROPER GEAR NEEDED IF RIDING MORE

THAN A FEW MINUTES

60 degrees - CAUTION! COVER EXPOSED SKIN ESPECIALLY IF IT IS RAINING.

4. WHAT TO LOOK FOR; SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

a. Watch for stumbles, mumbles and fumbles which show changes in motor coordination and levels of consciousness. Having troubles with controls, have to consciously think about where the brakes are etc. STOP AND GET WARM. DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL, THAT REDUCES BLOOD FLOW AND MAKES IT WORSE. A WARM DRINK WITH SUGAR HELPS.

b. Mild Hypothermia - core temperature 98.6 - 96 degrees F

AT THIS POINT YOU CAN MAKE DANGEROUS MISTAKES; FORGET TO PUT ON THE BRAKES, OVER OR UNDERSTEER A CURVE. ( ONE TIME I STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT AND FORGOT TO TAKE MY FEET OFF THE PEGS!) Shivering - not under voluntary control Can't do complex motor functions, can still walk & talk Vasoconstriction to periphery

c. Moderate Hypothermia - core temperature 95 - 93 degrees F

Dazed consciousness Loss of fine motor coordination - particularly in hands - can't zip up your jacket, due to restricted blood flow to the hands.Slurred speech Violent shivering Irrational behavior - Paradoxical Undressing - person starts to take off clothing, unaware s/he is cold MANY SYMPTOMS LIKE BEING STONED. A person in this condition needs help. Immediately get them indoors. They may not be able to make good decisions for themselves. If you or someone riding with you reaches this point reassess your plans; Make frequent stops to warm up, get a room for the night or park the bike and get better gear. You are taking a serious risk!

d. Severe Hypothermia - core temperature 92 - 86 degrees and below

(immediately life threatening) You won't have any trouble noticing this stage. The person falls down, curls into a fetal position appears to die! Shivering occurs in waves, violent then pause, pauses get longer until shivering finally ceases - because the heat output from burning glycogen in the muscles is not sufficient to counteract the continually dropping core temperature, the body stops shivering to conserve glucose. Person falls to the ground, can't walk, curls up into a fetal position to conserve heat. Muscle rigidity develops - because peripheral blood flow is reduced and due to lactic acid and CO2 buildup in the muscles. Skin is pale Pupils dilate Pulse rate decreases at 90 degrees the body tries to move into hibernation, shutting down all peripheral blood flow and reducing breathing rate and heart rate. At 86 degrees the body is in a state of "metabolic icebox." The person looks dead but is still alive.

Make sure your passenger is dressed right before you leave. They may not know how to dress. It's up to you to help them make the right choice. And guess who is going to listen to them nag to wear your nice warm jacket on the way home if they don't?

Keep these guidelines in mind the next time you venture out on that motorcycle in cold weather.

You don't have to park that bike when fall rolls around. Just dress right and enjoy!

Breathable Layer: This is the layer that comes in contact with the skin. It should allow body moisture to escape and evaporate more quickly, which keeps the skin dry and comfortable. Use thermal underwear made of synthetic fibers like polyester and polypropylene to wick moisture away from the skin. Avoid natural fibers such as cotton, they tend to hold moisture close to the skin and dry very slowly.

Screen Printing Business-How To Start A Small Home Business Printing T-Shirts

!±8± Screen Printing Business-How To Start A Small Home Business Printing T-Shirts

Have you thought about starting a screen printing business? It costs almost nothing to start a t-shirt printing business at home. I read about one guy who started a screen printing business with almost nothing. He made the frames with used lumber, and used fabric from an old wedding dress for the screens. He printed and sold signs. He also printed magnets (like what you see on car doors advertising a company), shirts, and baseball caps. He actually designed and built his own 4 color screen printing press. I bought the plans for his 4 color screen printing press on eBay. The plans were hard to follow, but I managed to build my own modified version of his press.

At one point I seriously looked at starting my own screen printing business. I ultimately decided that there were other things I would rather do. So I mainly screen print t-shirts for fun. But it wouldn't be that hard, or expensive to get into the screen printing business. It would cost under 0 to buy the stuff to screen print t-shirts. The absolute minimum stuff you would need would be a frame, photo emulsion, a cheap light, ink, a squeegee, masking tape, and t-shirts. For another hundred, you could buy a single shirt screen printing press. Or if you want to build your own press.

And you can upgrade your equipment as your business grows. Screen printing a t-shirt only uses pennies worth of ink for each shirt. You can get blank shirts on sale at Michaels for -4 each. Or you can buy them in quantity for less. You can buy box lots of t-shirts on eBay. You can run a screen printing business out of your garage, or the basement of your home. If you run a small shop, you will probably be okay. If you start to get bigger, then you might need to check with your local government on zoning laws.
What I have seen many people do is design and print shirts, and then sell them on eBay. If that is what you are interested in doing, look on eBay and find what kind of shirts people are buying. Are they buying dog shirts, cat shirts, karate shirts, etc. Find which shirts are selling. Develop your own original artwork, print a few shirts, and try listing them on eBay. So you might spend a few bucks per shirt, it only costs pennies to print them, and then you might be able to sell them on eBay for - on eBay.

Some other screen printing business opportunities would be local rock bands, baseball teams, family reunions, etc. If you know someone who needs t-shirts, offer your services and make a small profit. It is important that you do a good quality job. After you have done some jobs, you will likely get referred business by word of mouth. You can always get some business cards printed up, and post them on bulletin boards in your area advertising custom printed t-shirts.

Beach Vacation Packing List

!±8± Beach Vacation Packing List

Planning a summer road trip where you'll hit a lot of beaches along a coast? You'll need a beach vacation packing list to make sure you don't forget anything.

You've got lots of options as far as what coast and where on it you will travel, but your beach vacation packing will need to change depending on the temperature where you're going. A coastal trip up to Maine is very different from a trip along the coast of Southern California.

Ready to hit the road and enjoy some fun in the sun?

Beach Vacation Packing List: General Stuff/Any Climate
Maps and printed out directions for your route. Get a GPS system if you can - it can be a great help if you get lost or just want to find something, like a pizza place. Printed out hotel confirmations/reservation information for anything you've booked for your trip. Both a first-aid kit and a roadside emergency kit including a flashlight with fresh batteries. Get AAA if you don't have it- not only is it great for roadside assistance and other issues with your vehicle, most hotels offer discounts to AAA members. Every kind of charger you need for your cell phones, digital cameras, etc. Load up anything that requires batteries with fresh ones so you don't have to waste time on your trip stopping to buy them. Clothes for every day of your trip, sleepwear, underwear and socks. Pack no more than three pairs of shoes (pick ones that will go with almost everything) and make sure one pair is a good pair of walking shoes. All toiletries and other grooming materials. Put things that might leak in plastic sealable bags. Don't forget any prescriptions you might need. Swiss Army knife or all the tools it includes - a small knife, corkscrew, bottle opener, and scissors. Rain ponchos for those occasional rainy days. Two coolers, one large one for your trip (filled with snacks, meals and beverages), and one smaller one to tote to the beach. Big blanket for when you're cold or to use as a picnic blanket/beach blanket. Pillows if anyone in your group likes to nap. A pair of sunglasses for everyone in the group. For those who need glasses and contacts, pack them along with all the necessary drops and cleaning fluids.
Beach Vacation Packing List: Hot Climate
Bathing suits - at least two. Bring just one and it will always be cold and damp when you put it on. Plus, you'll need to wash it regularly, making it even slower to dry. Woolite/gentle soap for washing bathing suits. Beach towels - two for each person. Why? Just like bathing suits, towels don't always dry as fast as we'd like them to, so having an extra is essential. Sunscreen, aloe gel, and other sunburn remedies. Bring some, but don't stress about having all that you need - all of these items are readily available in any drugstore. Hats are a good idea - you'd be amazed at how burned your scalp can get, even with a full head of hair. Sandals and flip-flops for the beach. Beach cover-ups/outfits for each day and a fresh outfit for every evening. If you want to minimize clothes, just pack a fresh t-shirt/top for the evening. Sweatshirts, sweaters, and light jackets for cooler nights. One or more sun umbrellas unless you know that every beach you'll be visiting offers rentals. No matter how much sunscreen you slather on, it's rarely enough for a whole day in the sun and playing in the waves, so sitting in the shade of your umbrella can make all the difference. Large beach bag with lip balm with sunscreen, sunscreen of all SPF's, napkins, and cash for concession stands. Put some hair elastics in the bag for anyone with long hair so that they can pull it back when it's hot or windy (or both). Lots of reading - books, magazines, and newspapers. This is a trip where you really get a chance to read (assuming you're into reading). MP3 players with headphones/Earbuds. Disposable cameras. Never bring your digital camera (or laptop) to the beach because the salt air will gum all the parts up and destroy it. Inflatable toys/mattresses and boogie boards for playing in the waves. Other beach games are also great to bring along.
Beach Vacation Packing List: Cool/Cold Climate
Unless you enjoy swimming in freezing cold water, you'll only need one bathing suit. If you love a brisk swim among the icebergs, you'll need two and you'll also need to bring a bottle of Woolite/gentle soap for washing your suits. For the occasional invigorating dip in the ocean, pack one large towel for each person. Pack a lot of layers when selecting your outfits. T-shirts, light pullover/fleeces, heavy sweaters, jackets, shorts, jeans and other long pants are all items you can bring and then layer depending on the weather. The temperature can change frequently during the day so plan accordingly. Pack lots of socks - from thinner cotton ones to thicker warm ones. Sunscreen - make sure to wear this even if you're not spending all day on the beach. As you'll probably spend more time engaged in other activities, it's unlikely you'll spend enough time in the sun as to end up with sunburn, so you can probably skip packing the sunburn remedies. Sneakers and socks will probably be used more than flip flops, which most people will find too cold. If you're planning to hike some of the northern parks, pack hiking boots, thick socks, and a compass. Make sure to bring your cell phone in case you get lost. Grabbing a trail map (and sticking to marked trails) is the best way to avoid getting lost in the first place. It's a good idea to figure out one activity for every day above and beyond the beaches, which will only take a small amount of time to visit as it will be fairly cold. Whether you're exploring local sights or participating in outdoor activities and sports, you'll be sure to have a really fun vacation.

Now you've got everything you need for a wonderful summer road trip!

The Dangers of Using a Sauna Suit - Fact Or Fiction?

!±8± The Dangers of Using a Sauna Suit - Fact Or Fiction?

The Biggest Un-Truth Ever Told

For years we've all heard all of the extreme warnings that have been repeated over and over again about how sweating in a sauna suit can cause death, sweating will cause the body to dehydrate, is likely to cause a heart attack, increases chances of fainting, and is overall, not healthy! Afraid to sweat? Don't Be! The Question you need to be asking yourself is: Is this Fact or Fiction?

The problem with this type of warning is this, as "thinking" people, we've never really taken the time to stop and "think" to ask the so-called experts, WHY? Why is sweating in a sauna suit dangerous? Sure we've heard all of the same run-of-mill information repeated over and over again, but have you ever bothered to research the effects of sweating for yourself? My wild guess is, probably not! Because like most people you tend to go with the majority. It's that human nature thing about us all, where we want and need to fit in with the "in crowd" because we want to be accepted. After all if some doctor or "expert" tells you something like "sweating is bad for your health" you believe it. But remember this, what is the general warning about doctors and experts? To always get a second and third opinion right? Right!

The Health Benefits of Sweating

According to Dr.Jacquline Krohn (2000) "Our bodies are like sponges, absorbing the chemicals to which we are exposed. Much of that toxic brew is eliminated through the skin with sweat. In fact sweat often has a higher concentration of trace elements like nickel, cadmium and mercury than urine does."

What you haven't heard is that Most people sweat when they exercise or exert themselves and this type of sweating is both natural and healthy (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research 2009).

The cause of sweating stems from your body's temperature regulation system, specifically your sweat glands. Your skin has two types of sweat glands: eccrine glands and apocrine glands. Eccrine glands occur over most of your body and open directly onto the surface of the skin. Apocrine glands also cover most of your body, and develop in areas abundant in hair follicles, such as on your scalp, armpits and groin (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research 2009).

When your body temperature rises, your autonomic nervous system stimulates the eccrine glands to secrete fluid onto the surface of your skin, where it cools your body as it evaporates. This fluid (perspiration) is composed mainly of water and salt (sodium chloride) and contains trace amounts of other electrolytes; substances that help regulate the balance of fluids in your body - as well as substances such as urea (a nitrogenous compound found in the urine produced through protein decomposition or toxins). Source: Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research 2009.

APOCRINE GLANDS SECRETE A FATTY SWEAT DIRECTLY INTO THE TUBULE OF THE GLAND! WHEN YOU'RE BODY IS UNDER STRESS SUCH AS EXERCISING, THE WALL OF THE TUBULE CONTRACTS AND THE SWEAT IS PUSHED TO THE SURFACE OF YOUR SKIN WHERE BACTERIA BEGIN BREAKING IT DOWN. MOST OFTEN, IT'S THE BACTERIAL BREAKDOWN OF APOCRINE SWEAT THAT CAUSES AN ODOR. Source: Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research 2009.

What does this all mean? IF YOU SWEAT YOU LOSE WEIGHT!

The Myth Exposed!

So if sweating is so natural and healthy for you, why does everyone always advice against sweating in a sauna suit?

Because, some people might abuse a great modern day invention like the sauna suit and try to lose all of their weight in one day by wearing a sauna suit for too long. Admit it, you know some wacky people who think they can put on a sauna suit for 24 hours and sweat away ten years of bad eating habits! This is the dangerous part about sauna suits, ignorant people also have the money to buy them too; unfortunately there is no law against a moron purchasing a sauna suit.

Lack of basic intelligence and inability to use common sense is the biggest danger factor, not the sauna suit itself.

Big Question: How do I know when I am dehydrated if I am not a doctor?

Simple Answer: Do you need a doctor to tell you when you are thirsty? NO. Your body has an natural alarm that lets you know when you are dehydrated: YOU GET THIRSTY! When you feel thirsty, drink water or a sports drink. By drinking water and or sports drinks, you prevent dehydration. Remember, it is recommended that you drink up to 8-8oz glasses of water a day for good health.

SAUNA SUITS ARE PERFECTLY SAFE WHEN USED WITH PROPERLY

Sauna suits are great for sweating out toxins from the body and for losing weight, and not just water weight. Sauna Suits are basically designed to duplicate the same effects you would get by sitting in a sauna at the health spa.

The advantages of the sauna suit is that it is convenient, you don't have to spend an hour sitting around in a steamy sauna exposing all of your personal business with some ugly guy or eccentric girl who forgot to shave or who smell like rotten feet, ugh! Admit it; there is absolutely no privacy in a public sauna.

In a personal sauna suit you actually get to move around and do fun stuff such as walking the dog, cleaning your house, running around the block, reading a book while walking on your treadmill, skating, dancing, window shopping at the local mall and the list of fun activities goes on! At the end of your activity in your sauna suit, you get to reap the benefits of seeing how much dirt, fat, salt, toxins, and weight you've excreted while enjoying yourself! The only downside to sauna suits is that they look like trash bags because they are made of cheap plastic that usually rip and tear after a few uses. Hopefully somebody will make a sauna suit that looks half way decent one day. But in the mean time, any sauna suit out there in the market will do.

How cool is that? Weight loss can actually be fun!

You've heard the saying, "There's nothing like a good sweat!"

Common Sense:

The sauna suit is just like any other exercise or gym equipment, Use it with caution and don't over do it! If you know you have certain health problems or physical limitations, consult with your physician first. If you don't have health problems or limitations, consult with your physician. If it's 115F degrees outside, naturally you would not put on a sauna suit and go jogging, that would just be stupid! Again, use your common sense people! If your doc says it's okay to exercise, then it should be okay to exercise in a sauna suit. That sounds logical, right?

After all, you do want to accelerate and take advantage of the body's natural fat burning process, also known as: SWEATING!

DO SAUNA SUITS ONLY MAKE YOU LOSE WATER WEIGHT??

A lot of people who call themselves experts will tell you that working out in a sauna suit will only make you lose water weight; that once you rehydrate your body by drinking water and sports drinks- all of the weight will come back.

NOT TRUE! UNLEARN THIS LIE!
PUT ON YOUR THINKING CAPS!

Here is where I want you to start using your own brain to process information. I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and ask you to use your own common sense, critical thinking skills, and ability to think logically for a moment.

If you go to the gym and work out, you work up a good sweat, you lose weight, you drink water and sports drinks to rehydrate, and then you go home or out with friends and have a nice sensible dinner.

Does that mean that all of the results from your workout are null and void? NO.

Does that mean that because you drank some water which is ZERO CALORIES that you have picked up the five pounds of Fat you lost? NO!

Has your doctor ever told you that once you start on an exercise program that you must not drink water or eat food because you'll just pick the weight back up? NO!

They tell you to eat healthy, drink lots of water, and to stay active!

Are you supposed to starve and die of thirst because you are working out and being health conscious?

Of course Not!

Things You Must Remember

A SAUNA SUIT DOES NOT MAKE YOU PICK UP WEIGHT
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO RE-HYDRATE YOUR BODY ALL THE TIME!
WATER EQUALS ZERO CALORIES!
WATER IS NOT COMPOSED OF FAT!
WATER FLUSHES FAT and TOXINS OUT OF THE BODY!

When somebody tells you the same old lie about how you only lose water weight using a sauna suit, I give you permission to ignore them! They are lying to you!

The 2lbs of fat you burned off by working out in a sauna suit will not come back after drinking water!

Food is what makes you pick up weight because it has fat and other nutrients that generate energy. The energy from the food you eat is what gives you strength to move to burn the fat calories- if you are not working out and breaking a good sweat, you are not using the food for energy and therefore you are not burning fat!

When you work the body out in a sauna suit you speed up your metabolism and you burn fat calories, not water!

Does that make sense???

REMEMBER THIS

Most people sweat when they exercise or exert themselves and this type of sweating is both natural and healthy (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research 2009).

SAUNA SUITS ARE PERFECTLY SAFE WHEN USED WITH CAUTION! Sauna suits are great for sweating out toxins from the body and for losing weight, and not just water weight A Sauna suit will help you burn fat by heating the body and speeding up your metabolism! Fat loss will be permanent if you are consistent with your exercise routine using a sauna suit

Dog Clothes

!±8± Dog Clothes

Dog cloths go a long way in protecting your dog from cuts, scratches and bad weather. The main function should be to keep a dog dry and warm. The history of clothing for animal's dates back to the period of King Arthur. At that time, clothes were used to protect the knights' horses from external elements and attacks.

Dog clothes were primarily used in the military and law enforcement areas, in order to safeguard dogs from both the surrounding environment and attacks. Today, dogs also serve as narcotic sniffers in police departments. But a dog's main role is to be a pet to an individual or a family. For these reasons, dog apparel has changed with the time.

Dog Clothes include all kinds of outfits that are exclusive to dogs. Body suits, coats, dog dresses, t-shirts, tank tops, sweaters and sweatshirts are just a few items to choose from. Doggie boots, leashes, tags and hair clips are some accessories that compliment a dog's apparel. Other accessories include bathrobes, beds, boots, carriers, collars, jackets, raincoats and toys. There are outfits specially designed for special occasions and events such as weddings. Halloween and Christmas outfits are some of the more popular occasions that people choose to dress their dogs in Santa outfits or princess gowns.

You will find pet cloths in most pet shops, and they are also available on the Internet. Just do a search for "pet clothing," and you'll be given hundreds of sites to select from. Check them out and seek the best deals.
